International Photography Festival – Paraty
The Paraty in Focus was born the enchantment of the Italian photographer Giancarlo Mecarelli for Paraty. After visiting the city during the 2nd edition of FLIP, Mecarelli and his wife, Maxime Delmotte, decided in 2005, changing the Milan historic city of Rio de Janeiro, in order to open the Zoom Gallery and create Paraty in Focus – International Festival Photography, currently one of the biggest cultural events in the country related to photography.
The Paraty in Focus is one of the largest photography festivals in Brazil and a cultural initiative which provides a rich programming and today, with big names in the world photography.
14 lectures, tables, meetings and interviews with national and international guests, 12 exhibitions throughout the city [8 via the International Call, with 2 guests and 2 with the result of social activities undertaken during the year], an intense program of projections on the streets of the city ??and a Multimedia Space, more than 20 workshops, the second edition of Reading Portfolio, our Extra [surprises of the festival] and the traditional auction. Paraty in Focus is one of the most important events of photography.Throughout the year everybody works to achieve these. On this dates the streets of Paraty are full of photographers and photography lovers undergoing various activities in relation to the branches of photography and various photography projects.

The theme for the 6th edition of Paraty in Focus: The man who does, and will bemade ??with the planet.
In the 2010 edition will have 22 workshops surrounding the diverse photographicuniverse by leading international professional dictation: Alfredo de Stefano, Sebastian Rojas, Kameraphoto Collective, Bob Wolfenson, Klaus Mitteldorf and many more.
The Festival talked about the # FUTURE, think about the world that photography will find ahead. The event took place between 21 and 25 September in Paraty – RJ and amassed great names in photography nationally and internationally. The festival sought in these five days, working as a stage for many different fabrications and our reflections on this, so vast, universe image itself, the future.
It is only natural that, after discussing this on the planet Earth Inventories [theme ofParaty in Focus, 2010], we engage to travel through time and space and fall with allthe vagaries of field, transforming the historic city in the territory of Pythias for a week.
